A personal tribute.
Music touches my spirit.
Some musicians and artists have a lifelong calling for their craft, inspiring me to continue my passion for writing to support others on their spiritual self-care journey.
Last night, my middle daughter, Maleka, gasped that Tina Turner passed away.
Sadness flooded my body.
During my Divorce Years, Proud Mary kept my spirits and belief in a brighter future alive.
And I also adore it when artists, particularly Black Women, appreciate and celebrate one another, as in this performance by another of my favourite artist, Beyonce.
The pride and joy on Tina Turner’s face, as she watched Beyonce perform “Proud Mary” in recognition of her life and music are at an all-time high for me.
Tina Turner’s message and rendition of the traditional peace Sarvesham Svastir Bhavatu mantra even play a role in my spiritual meditation path.
And when I listen to children’s melodies harmonising on the album Tina Turner Beyond Children Full Album, it lights a fire in my heart. It strengthens my desire for us adults to get our act together and shape a better world for our children.
So, today, I am feeling profound gratitude and reverence for life and thankful for the opportunity to be on this journey with you.
If life is challenging for you now, take heart, dear friend.
May the vibes and spirit of Proud Mary infuse you with memories of happier days and rekindle your zest for life.
Keep going, dear friend.
You are doing great.
Remember to be kind and keep loving yourself.
Love and tender care for all beings.
