Beloved friends…thank you soooo much for you love, care and support.
In my last post I shared a little of what’s going on with my health and I am touched by your kind emails, loving thoughts and universal prayers for love and healing. It feels like I’m surrounded by a blanket of love and that feels sooooo good. Thank you.
In today’s post, I’d like to share with you two more of my all-time fav healing songs which help to elevate my spirits and cleanse my heart – Maha Mantra Meltdown by Krishna Das and Amazing Grace, in Cherokee. Take a listen, first of all to Maha Mantra Meltdown by Krsihna Das and feel the love, thanks and praise flowing from my heart to yours.
Healing Song #1: Maha Mantra Meltdown- Krishna Das
It’s strange, a few weeks ago,
I went to the doctors for an ongoing complaint and the resulting five weeks have been filled with hospital visits, different blood tests and a sense of “what if…” Even with all my years of meditating, inner wisdom and sitting at the feet of my teachers, I found myself going into worry and panicky mood and wondering “what if its cancer, what if I die” It’s absolutely crazy how my mind “went there”. And then I would spend hours fretting and worrying about all the things I still wish to achieve in life and queried the fragility of life.
I Feel Great
Although I am still waiting the results of my bone marrow biopsy and latest round of blood tests for “autoimmune disorders” I am feeling GREAT.
The last few days I’ve been feeling so strong, powerful and clean, it’s like my insides have been yanked out and new tender shoots are growing. It’s a wonderful sensation and affirms for me the power of love, rest and self-care in healing our bodies.
I Am A Busy Mum
Like most of you, I’ve spent the last few decades caring for my family and driving myself ragged in juggling “it all”. Everything has taken its toll and the tests and care I’m receiving from my local hospital is fantastic and reminds me of the need to slow down, breathe and take better care of myself (same sort of stuff I share with you!)
Healing Song #2: Amazing Grace
As part of my “self-care strategy” in the last few weeks I’ve gone deep within and in the silence of my heart sang prayers and Given Thanks for all the joys and beauty in my life. Over the next few blog posts, I’ll share with you the yoga practices I am using to heal and calm my mind. For example, as a child in Sunday School we were taught Amazing Grace and, at my cousin’s funeral, my brother, John recited the psalm Amazing Grace; and at John’s funeral, 18 months later, one of my cousin’s sang the same psalm. As such, Amazing Grace has always held a special place in my psyche. Many moons ago, by chance (!) I came across this version of Amazing Grace sung in Cherokee. Whenever I listen to this song, the drum vibrates deep within my root chakra, my heart soars and I’m instantly at peace.
Have a listen and see what you think – Amazing Grace in Cherokee
What Else Am I Doing To Calm My Mind And Heal And Cleanse My Body?
As usual, as if by “magic” my dearest sistah-friend and healer Ombassa Sophera tuned in and out of the blue I received a Skype message “are you alright”
Guided Meditation
Although Ombassa lives in the States, we are close. She led me through a beautiful guided cleansing meditation and it felt as if the weight and years of self neglect and residue of pain, anger and sadness of the past few years of divorcing my children’s father – melt from my heart. It was a potent experience and reaffirmed how powerful love is when we open to spirit and allow ourselves to be divinely guided and held.
Closing Words – Health is wealth
As we speak I feel energised, vital and thankful for the experience of “poor health”. Life is fragile and we are only here for a fleeting moment. And in that moment, we hold the power of vibrant health in our hands. No matter what stage of life you are at, your health is your greatest asset. I encourage you to take regular health checks and do what you can to nourish yourself and maintain your inner body awareness, radiant health and focus.
As usual, I’d love you to spread the vibe of today’s post with friends and family via Facebook, email or Twitter. Keep listening to the above tunes – Maha Mantra Meltdown and Amazing Grace and stay radiant.
I wish you and everyone dear to your heart a peaceful and vibrant day.
Group hug, love and praise
Thank you
