Have you ever woken up jaded, tired and exhausted?
Maybe dreading the start of a new day, yet, know there is no way out.
You HAVE to get up, maybe get your children ready for school, face the morning commute and find a way to send that report to your supervisor by 5.00pm.
What Do You Do Next?
When you wake up, tired and achy from lack of sleep, how do you shift your energy and get ready for your day?
What do you do, to shake the gremlins and focus your mind to wake up and snap into gear?
Are you an early morning coffee drinker? A smoothie babe or rush-out-of-the-house-grab-a-coffee-at-the-station type of person!?
Here’s What My Friend Does
One of my close work friends, Flora, has three children whom she home-schools. I take my hat of to Flora and admire her resilience and organisational skills to run her household, take part in numerous community events and home-school her children.
Flora’s Secret Get-Up-And-Go-Weapon
Prayer and meditation.
That’s it. Prayer and meditation. She swears by it.
Every morning, no matter how tired or exhausted my friend feels, she finds a way to fit in at least two minutes of quiet time, where she is able to breathe and tell herself, I’ll easily get through the day! And believe it or, whenever we catch up over the phone, she does. We laugh and joke and share our ups and downs and I marvel at my friend’s tenacity, optimism and good humour.
And here is one of Flora’s Fav Morning Prayer’s – Prayer of Grace
I was well touched when Flora shared that one of her most “grounding morning prayers” is one she saw in one of my books! This touched her heart.
So, in the spirit of friendship, here is Flora’s favourite Morning Prayer
Morning Prayer – Prayer of Grace
Dear Mother Earth, as I walk through your world, through the cracks and valleys of life, I pray for love, love of self and others.
I pray that I remain true to myself.
That I honour, care and protect myself.
Dear Mother Earth, it is through your guidance, your constant commitment to life that I’m here. Ready to serve. To live. Create and be. A divine soul, a budding flower, which blossoms and overflows with joy, peace and grace.
I thank you, oh divine creative spirit of mine for the gifts bestowed within and pray that your beauty will shine through my being.
Your love radiate through my eyes, your essence of truth, justice and honour through my heart.
Mother Earth, I thank you for the gift of life.
May I always remain close to you and show love and appreciation to your glorious creation.
