Sometimes I get really sad.
Feel down and ponder the meaning of life.
As a child, whenever my shoulders curled over my chest, mum would give me That Look and declare…” nothing happens before it’s time.”
I would sit up, stare, roll my eyes and close my ears as she recited all the incidents when her prophecy, “nothing happens before its time” came true.”
That was until I grew up, started to live my life, had children and realised, ‘mama was right. It’s true. Nothing happens before it’s time.” The video confirms this.
And so it is with today’s blog, Master Your Mind – Message For Hope #1. I repeat. It’s true. Nothing happens before it’s time.
I have been out of the blogging loop for a while, writing quietly away in my Gratitude Journal, meditating softly alone in my room as the sun rose and greeted the day.
Then it happened.
An email from a blogger I totally respect and follow; followed by the untimely passing of my dear friend.
And as I write this blog, mama’s words echo through my heart, “nothing happens before its time.”
An email from the popular blogger, Giovanni Dienstmann of Live and Dare; followed by the surreal passing of my dear friend.
On one hand, I am elated, proud and glad to promote Giovanni’s Master Your Mind 5-Week Meditation Course 5- weeks Meditation Programme, yet on the flip side, witnessing a friend, a fellow yoga teacher and healer, fight for life, and lose it, rocks my world and leaves me adrift, floundering the meaning of life.
Nothing makes sense, nothing seems real and solid.
How can someone be there, alive, present and living one day, then a few weeks later crying out “help” as she draws her last breath.
It doesn’t make sense, well, not to me anyway.
If you have lost a sister, brother, mother, father, or friend, you will know the agony of death. The Final Curtain. The End of The Road.
And what do you do, how do you cope, survive and carry on?
The answer. Meditate. You turn to meditation. You learn to be still, breathe and live again. This is my hope. My desire and intention in writing this blog and recording the above video is to support and encourage you to face your fears and try meditation.
Giovanni’s meditation programme, came at the right time.
Just when I, a seasoned meditation practitioner, needed a guiding hand and support to get up, do what I gotta do and face the world.
So far, I’m on Day 8 of the 5-week meditation programme, and every day I meditate, it’s my moment of guaranteed calmness and stillness from the mad movies playing in my head of my friend’s body, withering away, from the fall-out of the Big C.
If you are going through hard times, I am going to use the next few blog posts to share my experience of this meditation course and, hopefully, it will encourage and help you feel better.
As mama said when I was little, nothing happens before it’s time.
And I’m glad, give thanks and praise that “nothing happens before it’s time.”
Glad for my friend’s spirit shining strong and uplifting me.
Glad that I receive that email and now diligently follow Giovanni’s meditation course.
I really hope you’ll check out Giovanni’s The Master Your Mind 5-weeks Meditation Programme and join me and others as we all sit and breathe and master the mystery of the breath.
Namaste
May you and your loved ones be healthy, happy and well.
Thank you.
