Good morning and bless you. I wish you peace.
This morning, guided by my inner muse I scanned through my Twitter feed and clicked through on a tweet by Jackie Walker (@jackiewalker)
Memorised I read the tweet, clicked through to the recommended link and magic happened. I read a poem, a creative piece of magic by Joanna Paterson “If I Were In Charge Of The World” (http://bit.ly/fo9HUi)
At the end of her piece, Joanna suggested we set the timer for 7 minutes and using the prompt “If I were in charge of the world” write what we would do.
Here is my two pence worth of seven minutes.
If I Were In Charge Of The World
If I were in charge of the world I would fly through the hearts of our elected and unelected leaders.
I would wash their mouths out, sprinkle fairy dust and shadows of light through the crevices of their heart.
If I were in charge of the world I would fly home, right on my own doorstep, into the corners of my home, gather up my family and say “I love you. Thank you for being you and making life alright again.”
If I were in charge of the world, you would stand, next to me. Strong, bold, a mirror reflection of our beauty love and might.
If I were in charge of the world I would give. Give it all away and more. Give away my love, joy, passion for the written word and mastery of none.
I would shout YES! WE ARE ONE. Put down the guns, throw away the bombs and chuck flowers of lilies across the rifts and earthquakes which divide our lands.
If I were in charge of the world there would be war.
A war on famine, poverty, child abuse, exploitation and injustice. We would stand as one against the inhumanity that keeps you going under and forgetting who you truly are.
If I were in charge of the world I wouldn’t stand alone. I would shout, exclaim, gather you in and sit down, debrief the troops and chant our songs of peace and love… Amen, Amen, Om Namah Sivaya, Shalom Shalom, Nam-Myoho-rengeKyo, Ase Ase, Hetepu…. We would hold hands, stand womb to womb, breast to breast, our babes in our arms and say No More. This is the bottom line. Put down your guns, step over the line and hither come.
If I were in charge of the world, we would embrace, reflect, reconnect and Give Thanks. We would stand above the crowd, radiant in our beauty, eyes blazing, proud warrior Queens, dedicated to the task in hand.
If I were in charge of the world we would open our lungs, breathe the sign of peace. We would use the power of our breath to reconcile, recalibrate and see beyond the illusion of separatism and apartheid.
If I were in charge of the world. We would rest. In peace. As you live your life and I live mine. Apart? Yes, but as One.
