Here’s a short guided meditation for hope, strength and peace I recorded – just for you, to support you as you show up; be present and effect a positive change in the world.
It’s a short meditation, 11 minutes or so, to fortify and uplift your spirits.
So find a quiet space and give yourself this time to breathe, love and be.
We have all been there.
No matter how determined and committed we are to change, there will come a time when we hit a wall and we lose hope.
Friends may turn their back and family not able to understand what you are doing, and why you are making “such a fuss” and tell you “to keep quiet, its got nothing to do with you.”
I am 56 and grew up living with this oppressive system and am well versed in the way Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people are marginalised and effected by structural racism here in the UK and the rest of the world.
But we carry on.
And we do what we can to follow our goals, dreams, and aspirations.
My parents and elders taught me to hold my head up high and carry on.
Yet, it is during those moments of uncertainty, especially when you are battle weary, that your strength of character and determination to make a positive difference is tested.
You hit a wall.
It is easy to get lost and de-railed, and when you feel your spirits flagging and the goal post shifting again, you feel demoralised.
I encourage you, don’t give up.
The ancestors didn’t die for us to give up at the first hurdle.
Our elders didn’t travel on The Windrush for their great grandchildren to relive the same scenarios.
When you feel dispirited, lost and alone.
Keep your eyes on the prize.
Go deep within.
Be gentle.
Gather up your allies and kindred spirits, draw on their strength and collective wisdom, pick yourself up, and carry on.
And know you will get through.
Because, in the long-run, love, peace and justice always wins.
Take care, gentle hearts.
We will get through.
Love, strength and peace.
