Bless you dear souls, isn’t life just grand!
I’m soooo glad to be back blogging, sharing insights and ways yoga, prayer, meditation and breathing exercises can enhance, elevate and energise your life.
Gosh, how are you and how was your summer? It is now September, and over here in London, the darker nights creeping in. The perfect time for you to be still, go within and find out how you want to live your life, breathe and be in this world. Those are the questions I have been asking myself over the past few weeks and this morning, the answer came, crystal clear “in the presence of the Lord.”
Please, take a few minutes now, to slip on your headphone, click play, close your eyes and soak up the vibes of the video below “God Is Real” by Krishna Das. Tears flowed as I sat and listened to this mantra and helped unlock the key to me being here today sharing the vibe with you. I pray you receive the light you need in your journey.
And Here’s How My Journey Unfolded
Many moons ago, my dear yoga teacher and Spiritual Guide, Shola Arewa, introduced me to Krishna Das and, over the years, his music and chants have found a place in my heart. This morning I sat, prayed and something stirred within and my inner voice whispered “its time for you to come out, shine your light, and just get on with it.” Whatever it is, will unfold as I ‘get on with it’. Does that make sense?
So, I went to my YouTube playlist and randomly clicked “God Is Real”… and I was transported. To the heart of my centre, to the place where magic and stillness reside and I knew, yes, this is the place to be. This is where I wish to be, to shine and spread my light. In the presence of the Lord. And YES. God Is Real. Real in my Soul. And what a joy to sit in this space.
What Does It mean To “Live In The Presence Of the Lord?”
God is real. So real, the divine flows and breathes in all of us, yet sometimes, (a lot of the time in my case!) I run and hide away from my goodness. I’m a bit like a tortoise, I stick my head out for a few yards, make progress, get scared of my own light, then retreat back inside. So, this morning, I decided rather than beat up myself and let the fear and gremlins “win,” I am embracing them. Each time a gremlin says hello, I smile and say “hi, how you doing, this isn’t happening, we aint going there today. And we part. No hard feelings, still friends for life.
Is God is Real?
Like most of you, my journey of faith has taken many paths and I am now comfortable sitting in the place of peace and self acceptance of all faiths and religions. We are all flowers in the Garden of Eden, and the beauty of Krishna Das is the way he blends, weaves and merges the essence of all religions into his unique flavour of Bhakti Yoga and that fills my soul.
Side Note
I am debating whether to post this blog as it isn’t the blog I thought I would write to get back into blogging. Yet, I feel, it is the “right blog” to share and the way I aspire to live my life now, is to be in tune with my heart, to live in the presence of the Lord, to step into the unknown, feel the fear and just do it anyway and, in the process trust all is well.
Things may not work out the way I planned yet the more I grow and accept myself, love myself first, the easier it becomes to trust myself and allow myself to shine.
So, big hugs and thanks for allowing me the space to breathe, to take time out and reconnect with my inner heart song. And in so doing, this energy will flow, magnify, nurture you and together we’ll stand in our greatness.
Closing Prayer
May you live with grace and peace and may all your dreams unfold and magnify.
Namaste and thank you for being in my life.
