Blessings and hugs dear friends, and how are you today?
In today’s post, I’d like to share with you a daily prayer to reduce stress.
Each and every day, I allow my soul space to breathe and nourish the goddess within.
Over here, I am in an “interesting phrase.”
Over the weekend, after weeks of ignoring this “niggly pain in my lower back”, my back finally decided “enough is enough.” I woke up on Monday, with a gasp and, with a slow, disbelieving head shake realised I couldn’t move my back.
Yep. My back felt like it was on fire. Every time I tried to move to find a source of relief, I let out a slight moan.
So there I was, Monday morning, 5.30am lying in bed, pondering how do I get up and go to work…
I had a 7.00am private yoga student to see and lying in bed, shifting my body to find some relief was not on my agenda.
Like you, I’m a busy woman.
I have clients to see, a business to run, books to write, daughters to look after, parents to care for…. Lying in bed, wondering how am I going to even get out of bed is not on my to-do list.
Have you ever been in that situation where you know you have things to do, yet your body is refusing to move?
As a yoga teacher, I pride myself on being flexible and agile. I am no super bendy heroine, but I enjoy the sense of freedom and ease of movement my life offers.
On reflection, my ego was more bruised than my body. My self-image of being fit and healthy took a knock on Monday as I realised I was “stressed” and how little value I have been placing on my own self-care.
So this week’s message is a prayer, a few words to remind you, and myself of the importance of taking small steps every day to reduce stress.
Daily Prayer To Reduce Stress
To start off with all you need to do is find a quiet space, find a mirror and say the following 16 words out loud to your reflection….
Each and every day I allow my soul space to breathe and nourish the goddess within.
That’s it.
16 words.
Short and sweet.
That’s all I encourage you to say to yourself, at least twice a day.
Once when you wake up and before you go to sleep at bedtime.
Each and every day I allow my soul space to breathe and nourish the goddess within.
How did that feel saying those few words to yourself?
What feelings and emotions came up?
Now the trick is, whether you experience positive or self-sabotaging feelings, is to continue saying the prayer, every day for the next five days.
Will you do that?
Will you take 1 minute for yourself and affirm:
Each and every day I allow my soul space to breathe and nourish the goddess within.
Don’t be like me and ignore your body’s signals for rest.
In fact, let’s say the sixteen words, together, one more time
Each and every day I allow my soul space to breathe and nourish the goddess within.
What Next?…
And then drop me an email or share your thoughts in the comment box below, what meaningful daily activity you will do to reduce stress and create space for your soul to breathe and nourish yourself.
