Hugs, blessings and welcome to this week’s moment of calm post. I appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to tune in and make time for yourself. As always I am excited and honoured to sit down and share a few yogic gems and insights with you.
If you are a new reader and receiving my blog for the first time—a massive hug and bow to you. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to rest and recharge your soul.
In today’s post, I would like to share with you three quick and easy ways yoga helps you to let go of stress and overwhelm, and offer you 3 quick calm moment tips to invite more wholeness, peace and balance into your life, so you have more time and energy to do the things you want.

Over the years, my Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course and training as a Polarity Therapist with Masterworks International I have learnt an array of skills and techniques which help me regain my balance, calm down and ground my scattered thoughts.
As my parents and daughters will tell you I am forever rushing and leaving things till the last minute and trusting the universe to take care of the details. I definitely would make life easier for my guardian angels if I slowed down and took more time and stop hurrying everywhere! Like you, I’m a work in progress. Every time I lose my centre and feel myself getting snappy, over tired and stressed, rather than beat myself up and stay in overdrive mode, I look inside and turn to my yoga practice to help me slow down, refocus and regain my centre of calm and comfort.
If life every finds you spinning your wheels and situations spiralling out of control, I hope you too find comfort, balance in your body and a sense of effortless ease from practising these 3 yoga tips for instant calm and balance.
1. Stretch: As a yoga teacher, you know I had to include this as one of the quickest ways to let go off stress and feel calmer and happier. A few gentle yoga stretches at the beginning of your day helps to energise and awaken your body.
During the day, especially if you spend long periods of time, sitting down working on a computer a few minutes Yoga Break, does wonders to reduce tired eyes and ease stiff neck muscles.
Calm Moment Tip #1: Take five minutes to practice this simple yoga seated routine it will ease tension from your shoulders, lower back and neck and draw your attention inwards away from the hustle and bustle swirling around you.
2. Relax: Learning how to relax and rest makes a hugh difference to your ability to stay calm and carry on. The pace of everyday life has got so fast that most of my yoga students start yoga simply as a means to learn how to relax. It is easy, especially as busy working mums to get too caught up in work and doing things for your family that you simply do not have time to relax and even if you did create time; your mind is still in overdrive running through the never ending list of things to do.
Calm Moment Tip #2: Treat yourself. Give yourself a simple self massage guaranteed to ease knots and soreness in your shoulders and neck. And as a special treat listen to my dear friend Ms Ileane Smith guide you through this massage
3. Breathe: Top of my instant calm list is breathing. Learning how to stop what you are doing and bring your attention to your breath is vital to your everyday well being. Your breath is your constant companion and the quickest way to boost your energy and be a happier you.
Calm Moment Tip #3: Here are 3 yogic breathing exercises you can do right now to bring calm and peace into your life. They are simple to do and you can easily slip them into your work day to bring light, energy and clarity as you go through your day.
