Today as part of our Get More Energy series, I have a special kind of post for you: a round-up post where I share 17 best tips, from other bloggers, to help you stop feeling tired all the time and boost your energy.
If you are not familiar with the term “roundup posts”, let me give you a quick intro.
What Is A Roundup Post?
Basically, a roundup post “is a compilation of expert answers to a single question.”
I asked the experts their answer to my question, and their answers are all included in this blog post, which means you get to learn the best tips from 17 bloggers who I know, like and trust.
The beauty of this is you get to meet other bloggers and when you click on their name, you get taken to their websites and you can find out more about the work they do and how they can help you have less stress and more ease at home and at work.
What Question Did I Ask The Bloggers?
The question I asked the 17 bloggers is:
What is your best tip to stop feeling tired all the time?
I chose this question because it fits in nicely with our Get More Energy theme of looking at ways to help you feel less tired and have more energy to do the things you enjoy.
Who Are These 17 Bloggers?
First, you may be wondering, who are these bloggers, why should you listen to them!
Good question.
So, let me introduce you to the bloggers.
I have known the 17 bloggers for a number of years.
Some are past and present mentors and teachers, and others are friendships we have nurtured as we connect online or in person.
I trust their opinion.
I have followed these bloggers and have either worked with them, been in a Facebook group or done their courses.
I have seen them share and celebrate their wins and openly own their struggles – from poor health, financial ruin and relationship breakdown; so whatever they say, you know it comes from the hard school of knocks and worn with a badge of honour.
And I totally respect that in a person.
What Makes Them “Happy Bloggers”?
I call them “Happy Bloggers” because I am attracted to their vibe.
I like the way they run their business, have time with friends and loved ones, and take the time to nurture and care their readers, so I know, if you connect with them, read their blogs, listen to their podcasts and follow them online, you are in safe hands.
And that is very important to me.
I have learnt a lot about health and wellness from them as they share their wellness journey to look after themselves, find space, happiness and peace within the busyness of daily life.
Like you and me, they juggle family commitments, strive to seek harmony between home and work life; they have overcome health challenges, relationship breakdowns and have built themselves back up by taking their own advice and seeking support.
As you can see, they are kinda cool souls, and you can trust their advice.
So now you know who these bloggers are and what they mean to me, let’s get started.
Jump in, scroll through the list and most importantly, notice what tips catch your eye, and if appropriate to your situation, give it a go.
Finally, make sure you check out the final tip.
It’s a special bonus one and from someone extremely close to my heart!
REMEMBER: You are receiving 17 happy bloggers best tips to the question:

Racheal’s Best Tip:
“Learn how to REST! This is such a challenge when you are a type-A achiever.
Over the last few years, I’ve learned that a great nights sleep starts the day before.
Small changes like not drinking coffee in the afternoon and turning off all the screens an hour before bed have made a huge difference in the quality of my sleep – which has led to a huge improvement in my focus and energy the following day.”
Jim Edwards

Jim’s Best Tip:
“Specific exercises that increase energy and fun.”

Sharon’s Best Tip:
“Take a break from time to time.
Especially if you work from home, build time into the day to move away from the computer.
It can be as simple as going to another room to get a drink, or just taking a short walk – anything that gets you moving.
If you have trouble remembering to get up, then set a timer to remind you. I have to admit I get super-focused on what I’m working on, so sometimes I forget to move.
But some breaks are better than no breaks, right?”
Peter Appel
Peter’s vision is to set the world in motion. And to encourage you to move more, Peter offers a FREE video training: The 4 Enemies of the Body. Click here to find out more.
Peter’s Best Tip:
“Basically, to learn how to relax on the go so you don’t constantly have stress in your body.
Stress + irregular eating + sugar + bad sleeping habits are together really toxic and can lead to extreme dips of tiredness.
So the number one tip would be to stay aware during the day so you take care of your basic needs and don’t exceed your limits.
If you have a period of stress, we all have, give yourself a break to get back to your normal, relaxed state. Find a method that works for you: a relaxation, a breathing exercise, a meditation, a walk in the park – and make it your best friend.
When you’re overwhelmed, it’s easy to slip away into social media or some other distraction, and sometimes it’s ok, but it’s good to remember, this is not recharging, is just changing focus for a while, and I’d say, to stay awake and present, we need to consciously reset and refresh the system now and then every day.”

Liz teaches Chair Yoga, which is modified yoga poses adapted for the chair making the health and fitness benefits of yoga accessible to everyone. Check out the numerous benefits of Chair Yoga

Dr Crystal’s Best Tip:
“Self-permission + Support. Most women struggle to gift themselves the time and money to do what truly refills their own cup.
They care for everyone else and tend to their personal needs once everyone else is well taken care of…which is never!
If you are struggling to stick to your wellness plan, feel depleted all the time, and never feel “caught up” then low self-permission may be the root of your issue. In order to feel vibrant and joyful, you must have consistent space for self-care and rest in your life even if it’s only 5 minutes a day.
Ask yourself how easy it is to give yourself permission to just “do nothing” or spend time for yourself that doesn’t directly benefit anyone else in your life using a scale of 0-10 (0=not easy, 10= very easy).
No matter where you are on the scale, can you move 1-2 numbers higher on the scale?
Consider where you feel comfortable giving yourself more permission to attend to your wellness needs and what support you need to make it happen.
Getting help with childcare, grocery shopping, cooking meals, and cleaning are the most typical ways women create more space (i.e. time + energy) in their lives for self-care.
You have the same 24 hours to every day.
Give yourself permission to spend more of those minutes or hours purely on your own healing.
Sure, many things may also increase your energy like meditation, gentle movement, breathing, walking, yoga, or relaxing treatments like massages, but the first step is to give yourself permission to allow them in your life.”

Sonia’s Best Tip:
“Focus on getting enough sleep.
A year ago I was struggling to get up in the mornings and limping through the work day.
I kept hitting the snooze button and sleeping in sometimes up to 2 hours extra.
During the day by 3 pm sometimes even lunchtime my eyes were closing in front of my computer. I’d get home in the evening and sometimes was in bed by 7 pm.
Even getting to bed early I still struggled to wake up.
Things changed when I decided to implement a morning routine.
I’d tried this in the past and not stuck.
This time I decided that rather than try to follow “one person’s plan”, I’d review a few and pull out bits from each to create something that suited ME.
I discovered Hal Elrod and his Morning Miracle.
I didn’t actually buy his book but implemented the – put alarm clock across the room strategy.
That meant I was unable to just reach out and hit the snooze button.
That together with the other aspects of his routine – brush your teeth, drink a full glass of water, put on exercise clothes and exercise is what I created for myself.
My exercise was a 5 minute walk because at that time it was all I can manage. I started that in May/June 2017.
The other key thing I did was to find out how much sleep I needed.
My sweet spot is 7 hours. So when I have a specific time I need to be up in the morning I count backwards 7 hours to decide what time I need to have my lights out.
Life happens and we sometimes get to bed later than we planned.
In this situation I count forward 7 hours and that is the time I set my alarm. This has been transformational for me.
My morning routine is established. This morning I walked for about 50 minutes. I usually do between 30 minutes and an hour depending on what I’d doing that day. I went out a couple of nights ago and stayed until 10 pm. Last year that was unheard of. I’d avoid going out in the evening on a work day because I was so tired.
During the day I’m utilising time blocks and will focus on certain types of work in the morning, which is more cognitively demanding and I’ve more energy in the afternoons.
I also utilise the Pomodoro technique.
If the alarm clock wakes me up I know that I’ve slipped back on ensuring I get my 7 hours sleep. When I’m getting enough sleep I always wake up before the alarm.
Even if I’m tired when I wake up and the thought crosses my mind not to do my walk … As soon as I start brushing my teeth I go into autopilot and before I know it I’m outside on my walk.”

Tami’s Best Tip:

Sue’s Best Tip:
“Great question, Ntathu! I have fibromyalgia that’s under control but if I don’t rest for an hour each afternoon (even if’s it is just to lay down and read), my tiredness gets worse.
When I lay down, I feel like a new person afterwards!
So I’ve learned to pace myself so I don’t get tired as easily.
I also take 5-minute breaks after every hour of work and a half-hour break every 2 hours.”
And Your Final Bonus Tip is from my middle daughter, Maleka!

Sue
Massive hugs, Sue. THANK YOU! for introducing me to roundup posts and helping me to remember how much I enjoy blogging. XX
Thank you for this roundup! They basically all said “sleep” and I’m glad I’m implementing my own sleep changes this month. Bed by 10pm and phone off by 9pm.
I like Tami Hackbarth’s advice the best as I wake up in the middle of the mornings. I like the idea of getting as much sleep as I can before midnight.
YES! I noticed the “sleep” theme!
and well done for implementing your own sleep changes. I have also started to put my phone away by 9.00pm and don’t pick it up till between 7.00 – 8.00am, which for me, makes a massive difference to how I fall asleep and wake up.
Thanks for sharing your process.
